The Halo: Eliminate 99% of Viruses and Bacteria In Your Home

Did you know that most people spend more than 90% of their time indoors and that indoor air is often 10 times and sometimes even up to 100 times more polluted than outdoor air? Take control of your indoor air quality (IAQ) now by reducing pollutants that can contribute to headache, fatigue, lung irritation and foul odors.

Invented to recreate nature’s process of purifying the air, it’s like bringing fresh outdoor air inside without ever having to open your windows. The award winning HALO in-duct air purifier reduces odors and air pollutants by purifying every cubic inch of air that your central air conditioning system reaches.

It is effective against all three categories of indoor air pollutants: Particulates, Microbial and Gases. You can now reduce common allergy triggers from particulates such as pollen, mold spores, dander and dust. Thoroughly tested to reduce airborne and surface bacteria & viruses, such as MRSA, e-coli, and Norwalk, to name a few.

And, say goodbye to odors from cooking, pets, dirty socks, diaper pails, and musty rooms.

Benefits of the halo include:

  • Reduces dust, dander, pollen, mold spores
  • Kills up to 99% of bacteria, mold and viruses
  • Kill 99% of viruses on surfaces
  • Reduce Odors

How Does it work?

The HALO in-duct air purifier uses Reflective Electro Magnetic Energy technology.  Installed into heating system air ducts, the HALO in-duct air purifier produces Hydro-Peroxide plasma that is distributed through the duct system and into the conditioned living space.Unlike passive air technologies, which need pollutants to pass through the unit for purification or filtration, the HALO in-duct air purifier sweeps through your home actively purifying pollutants at the source. The charged plasma also induces particles to stick together making them bigger and easier for your filter to catch. Hydroperoxides occur naturally in the earth’s atmosphere and are part of nature’s process of cleaning the air.

Permits: How they work and why you need one

August 20th, 2021

New equipment installation and home improvements projects are completed everyday in Colorado Springs.  It is the job if the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department to ensure that projects and installations are done safely and follow proper guidelines.  If you have never had a permit pulled on your home there are a few things you need to know to help the process run smoothly.

The Permit Process

The permit process involves a couple of steps.

First, before the project begins a permit must be pulled through Pikes Peak Regional Building Department.  This permit can be pulled by a homeowner or a contractor.  All appropriate permits must be pulled before work can begin.  Some projects require attachments by additional contractors.  For example, an AC requires a mechanical permit with an electric attachment before work can begin. Permits are only valid for 6 months.

Next, the project is completed.

Once complete, an inspection will need to be scheduled.  During the inspection a city inspector will review the project for code violations and safety concerns.  Inspections can be scheduled for any day, but the inspector may come at any time.  They do provide a 30 minute call ahead.  During the inspection, inspectors may find adjustments they would like to see on the project.  They will post these notes to your permit.

Once the job is completed to their satisfaction, your permit will be closed.

Permits that were not inspected or were left incomplete will remain open and eventually expire.  These expired permits can cause problems during the sale of your home or the renewal of your contractors license.

If you are concerned about the status of a permit on your home, you can call the regional building department or set up an account online.

Why You Should Get A Permit For Your Project

As a home owner, you want to make sure work is being done to appropriate quality standards. Even with DIY projects, it is a good idea to get a second look to make sure projects were done correctly and have no safety concerns. All licensed contractors should be pulling their own permits. Contractors skipping this part of the process or asking homeowners to pull permits may not be licensed. Additionally, permits are required for all projects when your house is being sold, so be sure that they are being opened and inspected for every home project.

All of our HVAC install include permits. If you are interested in a new installation, schedule your free consultation by calling 719-551-2232 or click here to schedule online.

Filters: The Key To A Happy AC

August 20th, 2021

Did you know the furnace filter is one of the most important thing you can take care of to make sure your AC works well and has a long life.

How It Works

Many people are surprised to learn that their furnace works so hard in the summer months. Your air conditioner cools your air but the furnace moves it throughout your home. This means the motors and the fans are working hard all year long. Furnaces need the filter to protect them from dirt and debris. Without a filter, much like a vacuum cleaner dirt, dust, pet hair and other particles will build up on important components within your furnace and cause them to fail. Broken parts can be costly to fix and clean and incredibly inconvenient on days with extreme temperature.

In addition to needing protection from dust, furnaces need to be able to breathe to operate properly. As the filter becomes dirty, less air is able to move through it until eventually it can’t breathe at all. This can become a problem in the winter which can cause your furnace to stop heating, but in the summer it is even more crucial.

Since the AC cools the air and the furnace moves it, when the filter is compacted and the furnace is unable to move air properly the chilled air begins to freeze the inside of your coil and the lines to the condenser. As they freeze up, the air conditioner eventually is unable to perform.

How To Fix A Frozen AC (most of the time)

The most common problem we see in the summer months is a dirty filter. So if you notice your AC is only blowing warm air, the filter is the best place to start. Just changing the filter may not resolve your issues. If the unit has frozen it will need to thaw before it will operate properly again. To thaw your unit, set it to fan for 12 hours to ensure all ice is melted before turning it back on.

If your filter is clean and you are still having problems, it is probably time to bring in the experts! To schedule your diagnostic appointment give us a call at 719-551-2232 or schedule online by clicking here.

Introducing The Daikin FIT AC

August 20th, 2021

Slim Stylish Design

Your home is unique, just like your comfort needs. Although traditional “cube style” systems have been providing comfort for years, they can be cumbersome for certain spaces. The compact size of the Daikin FIT system now offers you a solution so you no longer have to compromise.

With its space-saving low profile trunk style outdoor unit, the Daikin Fit™ is easy to install in tight spaces, making it perfect for Traditional homes, townhomes, bungalows, condos, zero lot line homes, patios, terrace, and multi-story locations that would typically require a crane.

High Efficiency Performance

Daikin inverter technology helps systems run at an energy-conserving level.

It will not start and stop the “old fashioned way.” Instead, it operates by using only enough energy to reach desired temperature. Just as a car is more efficient and traveling on a highway than it is in stop-and-go city traffic, the FIT will reach temperature faster and maintain constant temperature better than traditional ON/OFF systems.

The inverter compressor is the heart of a Daikin Fit™ system. Daikin’s inverter technology is responsible for delivering intelligent comfort with efficiency, based on demand. The inverter (variable-speed) compressor delivers the capacity required to maintain desired room conditions, typically reducing energy consumption by up to 30% or more (compared to traditional AC.)

Quiet Operation

Traditional AC tends to operate loudly. This noise can become a nuisance in yards, or when the system is installed near a window. The Daikin Fit™ operates at levels as low as 56dB(A), creating comfort inside and out.

Most Comprehensive Warranty

The Daikin Fit™ comes with a 12 year parts and labor warranty. Most manufacturers limit their warranties to 10 years and do not include labor costs. With this system you know you will be covered for years to come.

Ready to learn more about installing the Daikin FIT AC in your home?
